Lexus IS Ride & Drives

Here’s something to keep an eye out for: This summer, Lexus will kick off a multi-city Lexus IS ride-and-drive tour after the 2014 vehicles arrive in the U.S. This will be a superb opportunity to get behind the wheel of the 2014 Lexus IS or IS F SPORT.

A challenging closed course will be set up at each venue, autocross style, and participants will have an opportunity to zip around in a Lexus IS or IS F SPORT with a pro driver giving tips. Other Lexus F SPORT vehicles will be on hand to drive as well. Also, Lexus will offer “Hot Laps” in the LFA and offer group prizes for the best lap times.

The events, which will be held at stadiums in several major metropolitan areas, will consist of six two-hour sessions, and attendance is by invitation. As summer approaches, talk to your dealer about the date and venue for the IS ride-and-drive closest to you, and about getting on your area’s invitation list.

Each attendee can register for a specific session, although participants are invited to stay all day (food and other amenities will be provided).

And if you can’t make it out to your city’s event, no problem at all: Your Lexus dealer will be happy to schedule a 2014 IS or IS F SPORT summer test drive after the vehicles arrive in showrooms.

Car and Driver Selects Lexus IS 350 F Sport No. 1 in Road Test with BMW and Cadillac

The Lexus IS 350 F Sport scored highest in Car and Driver magazine’s road test with the BMW 335i and Cadillac ATS 3.6.  In the June edition now on newsstands, editors wrote: “The crowning of a Lexus as the high priest of the sports-sedan world is something few saw coming – until we dove into the twisting, climbing, kinking, plunging roads around Leakey, Texas.  Turn-in is crisper in the Lexus than in either the BMW or the Cadillac…More important, the Lexus is utterly imperturbable…Additionally, the Lexus is lavishly, indulgently comfortable…Our drivers unanimously swooned.”

Lexus LF-LC Production Model in 2016?

Lexus LF-LC Production Model in 2016? Posted by krew on May 9th, 2013 Lexus LF-LC in 2016? Car & Driver is reporting that a production model based on the Lexus LF-LC concept could be released in 2016:

A two-plus-two sports coupe concept from Toyota’s California design studio that could be Lexus’s answer to the Aston Martin DB9 if, of course, it reaches production. More expensive and more driver-oriented than the defunct SC430 convertible, this “poor man’s LFA” (it’ll cost about half as much) will squeeze at least 500 horsepower from its hybrid powertrain.

A 2016 release date lines up with previous rumors — the magazine also suggests that the production LF-LC will be powered by a hybrid V8 power train and priced just below $200,000.

Lexus Carlsbad Customer Testimonial

Customer Testimonial:
"Words cannot express how much I appreciate the special lease deal you provided me at Lexus Carlsbad last week on my 2013 IS250.  I've been coveting the IS250 for a very long time and you made it possible for me to actually possess my dream car!   I have a huge smile on my face every time I get in the driver's seat of my new sedan and feel like I'm literally wrapped in luxury with a sporty edge.  Love it! :)

I also want you to know how well your (GSM) and Bob K. took care of me.  They are both very personable and wonderful gentlemen to work with.  My initial meeting was with Bob (even before Wayne got involved) and I really liked him from the start.  He is very warm and persuasive in a good way, and he really went above and beyond to ensure my experience was most excellent!  Aisha Gonzales was also a real pleasure to meet and work with.

Many thanks to you and your admirable team!   I am an extremely happy Lexus Carlsbad fan :) -Lisa"

Toyota Division Still No. 1 Sales Retail Brand; Lexus Luxury Hybrid Sales Leader

Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., reported monthly sales of 176,160 units in April 2013, down 1.1 percent on an unadjusted raw volume basis, 5 percent on a daily selling rate (DSR) basis.  Calendar-year-to-date (CYTD) TMS sales are 6.1 percent ahead of the same period last year.

“From an industry standpoint, continued retail sales growth indicates the underlying strength of the market, which is a great sign for the months ahead, especially with new products, low interest rates and plenty of pent up demand,” said Bill Fay, TMS group vice president and general manager.  “Toyota’s two newest models – Avalon and RAV4 – continued to attract customers with double digit gains in April.

Toyota Division sales were 158,069 units, keeping it in the No. 1 spot for top retail brands so far this year.   Avalon had its best April sales month since 2007 with April sales up 119.4 percent.  RAV4 sales also had its best ever April with sales of 18,541, an increase of 22 percent.  Toyota had a good truck sales month with more than 68,000 units sold.  Tacoma sales were up 19 percent, while Tundra sales rose more than 14.6 percent.  Scion’s total April sales reached 5,697, up 3.5 percent over April 2012.

Lexus reported April sales of 18,091 units, down 3.1 percent by raw volume compared to the same period last year.  For the five Lexus hybrid vehicles, CYTD April sales were 3,145 units, up 23.3 percent on a daily selling rate, and accounted for 17 percent of Lexus’ overall sales.

“Lexus now sells two out of every three luxury hybrids, making Lexus the clear luxury hybrid leader,” said Jeff Bracken, Lexus group vice president and general manager.
