Lexus Design Direction Will Be on Full Display in Chicago
Don’t call it a comeback. After Lexus saw its 2012 sales jump 31 percent over the previous year, the luxury car manufacturer expects an even brighter 2013. This confidence will be on display at the Chicago Auto Show, as Lexus showcases a heavily revamped lineup and special vehicles evoking a new direction in design.
This past year saw Lexus introduce new versions of the ES and LS sedans, and RX and LX sport utility vehicles – all brandishing the new signature spindle grille. These vehicles will all be on display in Chicago. They will be accompanied by the all-new 2014 Lexus IS F Sport, which made its world debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The IS now sports superior exterior and interior styling as well as greatly enhanced driving dynamics.
Lexus’ super car – the LFA – returns to the Windy City. This Nurburgring Edition of the LFA packs 562 horsepower in a 4.8 liter, V10 engine. Since coming to market nearly two years ago, the LFA has quickly established itself as one of the world’s great performance vehicles.
The LF-LC, which won Best Concept honors at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show, based on public polling, is also coming back to Chicago. However, show goers may notice that it’s not the ruby red marvel they saw last year. This vehicle is the LF-LC Blue Concept, which debuted at the Australian Motor Show last October. It’s the second iteration of the LF-LC Concept which Chicagoans saw last year.
Other specially-made Lexus products on display include an LS modified for the SEMA Show, as well as the orange and black Lexus IS F CCS-R, a one-of-a-kind IS F which conquered the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb last summer.

Lexus Financial Services Kicks Off 2nd Annual 'GoGreen' Campaign, and Pledges Up To $100,000 for Boys & Girls Clubs of America
Lexus Financial Services (LFS) is continuing to do its part for the environment, all while supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) and improving the overall experience of its own customers.
TFS/LFS is kicking off its second annual “GoGreen” campaign, encouraging customers to sign up for paperless billing statements; allowing them to receive monthly emails when their bill is due, rather than traditional paper statements sent through the mail. Between Jan. 15 and March 31, 2013, for every customer that signs up to “GoGreen,” TFS/LFS will donate $5 to the BGCA (up to a total of $100,000).
Every day, BGCA members across the nation participate in numerous “green” activities, such as recycling projects and community clean-ups. By choosing to “GoGreen,” TFS/LFS customers are not only helping provide much needed funds to BGCA, they are helping to greatly reduce the volume of paper statements that TFS/LFS sends each month. The “GoGreen” campaign protects the environment, while supporting after-school and life-skills programs that teach young people how to better care for their neighborhoods… and for their planet.
“Last year’s ‘GoGreen’ campaign was a great success,” says Karen Ideno, vice president of Product & Marketing. “It took place less than a year after TFS/LFS launched paperless billing, and a record 239,450 customers signed up for the program during this first drive. The environment-friendly campaign helped the company surpass its targeted goal.”

"Purchased a non-Lexus vehicle here in December 2012. I spent about a month researching vehicles to make sure my money will be well spent. I needed a commuter car so low mileage and fuel efficiency played a major factor in my purchase.
I saw a car in their website that was currently on special. A very low mileage vehicle, fuel efficient, and a good price. I emailed them and gave them the price that I am willing to pay. I told them that I will test drive the car if they are willing to negotiate the price to what I wanted. They responded back right away with the counter offer and we made a deal.
Steve Smidt was assigned to assist me with the test drive and to answer any questions I have. He was very professional and very patient. He knew the car in and out and have answered all the questions I had. There was no pressure at all to purchase the vehicle. He made sure that our car buying process is a smooth as possible. He even helped the finance guy with our documents since it was a Saturday and the finance department was really busy.
Prior to leaving, I brought up to Steve that the two headrests in the back seat are missing. He said he will get with the used car manager to find out where the headrests are and will send it to me. He gave me his word that he will take care of it. For me, it was not a big deal since I can buy a headrest with a TV on it for less than $100. 3 weeks later, I received a brand new pair of headrests.
Overall, our car buying experience with Lexus Carlsbad especially with the help of Steve Smidt was excellent. Although the car that I bought was not a Lexus nor an expensive car, they still treated us professionally and courteously."

We came in with an appointment to see him at 1 pm Sat Dec 29th they had a 2013 Red ES350 which we wanted. We met Mike and he asked Ken to give a tour and a ride in the car. Ken was knowledgeable about the car inside out, and all his responses to the mechanics of the car were excellent. Once we were happy with our choice, it came down to the numbers. We had a trade in and I knew what it should trade for we knew what we wanted to pay for the car and as we came back to Ken's office Mike came by as well.
Mike wanted to know if we liked the drive and wanted to purchase the car with my trade in in the deal. I said yes of course he said give me 5 minutes. He was back in 5 and gave me the numbers and I was so happy I could explode. I said yes and we were all done except to do the paper. I was on my way by 3:15 pm Mike took us the Finance dept. and we were helped again in a 5 star manner.
Lexus Carlsbad was a 5 star performances.

All-new Lexus IS First in Industry to Offer Subscription-free Traffic and Weather Information on Integrated Audio Systems
Lexus today announced that it has partnered with iBiquity Digital Corporation, the developer of HD Radio™ Technology, to be the first automotive brand to offer subscription-free, real-time traffic and weather information on its integrated audio systems. The all-new Lexus IS sport sedan, which will debut at the North American International Auto Show on Jan. 15, will be the first Lexus vehicle to feature this technology when it arrives in dealerships this summer. “At Lexus, we strive for partnerships that bring the most advanced connected vehicle technologies to our customers at a great value,” said Sandy Lobenstein, vice president, Connected Vehicle Technology and Planning. “As a result of our partnership with iBiquity, our owners will be the first in the industry to have access to subscription-free real-time traffic and weather data on multimedia systems across our vehicle lineup.” Lexus will launch two systems integrating HD Radio, digital audio entertainment and real-time traffic and weather information. For vehicles with available Navigation, Lexus will provide a digital audio and navigation system driven by the first of its kind hybrid technology capable of receiving digital traffic and weather information from both HD Radio stations and the cell phone network, using the driver’s smartphone connected with the Lexus Enform system. For vehicles without navigation, Lexus will offer a standard premium Display Audio system complete with subscription-free traffic maps and weather information, all delivered by HD Radio stations across the country. iBiquity will display this new technology in their booth at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nev., through Jan. 11.
